100,000 Euros for destroyed printershop after terrorist attack
For a short time the Dammartin-en-Goël, north-east France, based printers were world news. What remained for the owner was a traumatic event and lots of damage. A collection by sympathisers raised 102,095 Euros which allowed the printers to start again. After the attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo the terrorists sought refuge in the print shop where they took the director hostage. On 9 January the police raided the print shop. During the raid the attackers were killed, and a large part of the shop was damaged. The front and three presses were damaged. The value of the machines is between 80,000 and 100,000 Euros a piece. The insurance will pay out 70,000 Euro. The money raised is therefore very welcome.
