Growth digital colour prints in a declining prints market

Amongst the declining trends in the number of print shops and print volumes the growth in digital colour prints stands out. Last year this segment grew by 17% in the USA to a total volume of 90 billion pages. The toner-based sheet production grew by approximately 7%. The last couple of years digital printing was boosted by high volume rotation inkjet productions, especially for transpromotional printing, books and direct mail. Sheet inkjet technology is expected to continue to grow because of improved quality and more substrate choices.
