Tetterode now Heidelberg Benelux
A famous and historic Dutch business name, Tetterode, will disappear. Now that it has been acquired by Heidelberg, the distributor´s name will be changed to Heidelberg Benelux per 1 January. The press release says it is “with an aching heart”.
With this name change Tetterode will disappear.
The company founded in 1851 by Nicolaas Tetterode grew to be a type-foundry with 800 employees and 20 offices. In 1928 the company became distributor for Heidelberg presses. In 1963 Tetterode and paper manufacturer Bührmann merged. After several acquisitions and reorganisations Tetterode was bought buy Corporate Express which in turn was bought by US company Staples. In March 2015 Heidelberg became the owner of the once so important print wholesaler.
