Paper made from grass
Germany paper manufacturer Scheufelen introduced grass paper, suitable for graphic applications and food packaging such as for fruit and veg. The paper consists for more than 50% of fresh fibres from sun-dried grass. Source product is grass from around the factory in Lenningen, Germany. The biggest advantage of grass as a resource is that there is significantly less (up to 1000 times) water necessary for the production when compared to wood pulp. There is also a saving of up to 80% in energy and no chemicals are needed for the production. The paper is recyclable, compostable and FSC-Mix certified (FSC® C009951). Grass paper is supplied by Paper2Day and is called Scheufelen Graspapier.
