A very special Christmas card
Paper manufacturer Iggesund makes very special promotional products. With their annual Christmas card they have outdone themselves.
The card has been printed on sulphate carton produced by Iggesund and is a presentation of quite a few techniques.
The card represents a journey from the Swedish forest to Stockholm city with the sky lit up by the Northern light.
UK printer Papersmyths produced the card and it is a laser-cut diorama. The different layers can be folded out when opening the card. The Northern lights effect was achieved by cutting stars and a moon out of holographic foil. The woods and the city silhouettes are made of spot UV ink stars. The text, “Christmas Greetings” was done in silver foil.
A very complex product. The five parts had to be assembled by hand by a team of students. “It was a combination of dead fingers and a lot of fun to finish the job” says a very proud printer Iain Smyth.
