Categorie:

Komori Europe Corporation and Highcon Systems Ltd. have entered into a strategic selling agreement, further strengthening the existing Highcon relationship with Komori in Japan and America. Komori Europe is in the process of installing a Highcon Euclid III digital cutting and creasing machine at the Komori Graphic Center-Europe in Utrecht and will sell and support the entire Highcon® product line in France, Italy, UK and the Netherlands.
The Highcon digital finishing solutions are the perfect complement to the Komori fleet of offset presses as well as the new Impremia IS29, 29-inch inkjet, sheetfed UV printing system. The Highcon solutions not only remove bottlenecks in the post-press process by dramatically reducing setup time and enabling rapid turnaround of jobs, but also deliver increased design options with the ability to produce intricate cutouts, etching, variable data cutting, and the promise of accessible Web-to-Pack with the Highcon Axis. The potential of this combination is ideal for print providers who want to offer a wide range of commercial and packaging applications.

“We are very pleased with this partnership that highlights Komori’s commitment to support our customers developing successful business models utilizing both offset and digital print, from concept to final product. We are convinced that our European customers will benefit from the combined expertise of our two companies, allowing them to develop and deliver innovative applications and a faster time to market,” said Peter Minis, Marketing Manager for Komori Europe.
Jens Henrik Osmundsen, Highcon VP Global Sales added, “We already have several joint customers and are proud that Komori, with their 100 year focus on reliability and quality, understands the true value that our technology can bring to their customers, whether offset or digital. We look forward to working together to expand the Highcon customer base.”

The Highcon Euclid III digital cutting and creasing machine will be demonstrated during the Autumn Open House at the Komori Graphic Center-Europe in Utrecht on 4 and 5 October 2017. Registration is now open at www.komori.eu

Manufacturers such as: Evonik, Henkel, Maan, Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Europe, Ritrama and Transfer Trade will show that all sorts of materials are suitable for print without a liner. Read more about this environmentally friendly solution in the press release below.

PRESS RELEASE

Linerless Trail line-up announced for Labelexpo Europe

Exhibitors participating in the Linerless Trail have been announced as the popular feature area makes its return to Labelexpo Europe 2017’s show floor. Established to help increase sustainability levels within the industry and accelerate zero waste adoption, the Linerless Trail will benefit printers looking to improve their green credentials.
Originally debuting at Labelexpo Americas 2016, the Linerless Trail brings together Evonik, Henkel, Maan, Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Europe, Ritrama and Transfer Trade. From materials through to processing, the Linerless Trail will have a particular focus on in-house production and new materials as it aims to introduce and showcase the benefits linerless technology can offer print houses.

Linerless labels incorporate both adhesive and a release coating, eliminating the need for a separate release liner. Displaying both materials and converting systems, the Linerless Trail participants will be organizing live demonstrations on their stands as well as handing out samples.

Jade Grace, Labelexpo Europe’s project director explains: “There is a lot of talk about linerless and as interest continues to grow in this area, we are seeing it being more widely used, particularly in food manufacturing. There are multiple benefits to going linerless and printers who are looking to become more eco-friendly should consider a switch, because it helps eliminate waste, bring down the overhead costs of producing labels and yield greater efficiency in the printing and application stages.”

Labelexpo Europe will be held at Brussels Expo and runs 25-28 September 2017. An early bird discount rate is available now until 15 September with show entry costing from €55.

Visitors can register online at www.labelexpo-europe.com.

Fujifilm announces offset plate price increase in response to rising raw material costs

25 aug 2017
Categorie:

Fujifilm Europe today announces that, as a result of substantial increases in the cost of raw aluminium, it will be increasing the prices of its offset printing plates.

The last 12 months have seen an increase of more than 20 per cent in the Euro-based cost of raw aluminium. Fujifilm has been working tirelessly to improve internal efficiencies to try and absorb the impact of these raw material costs, but these process improvements have not been sufficient to avoid this action. Fujifilm will therefore be increasing the price of its offset printing plates from 1st September 2017 by up to 10%, with the actual increase passed on to printers dependent on the local market situation.

Takashi Yanagawa, S.V.P. Fujifilm Europe explains: “Fujifilm has absorbed the rising cost of raw materials for the last 12 months to try and avoid passing on price increases to our customers, but unfortunately this situation is unsustainable. Our customers have come to expect products of the very highest quality from Fujifilm, with service and support to match, so our focus is to safeguard our ability to provide that very high level of service. These price increases are a necessary step to help us achieve that.”

PERSBERICHT

Following on from a year packed full of successful exhibitions and open houses, Friedheim International will be exhibiting at IPEX 2017 with one of the largest stands at the show, boasting some of the most advanced print finishing equipment on offer today.

At IPEX 2014 we launched the MBO M80 range of versatile modular folders, at IPEX 2017 Friedheim are proud to present the UK launch of the MBO K80 high speed combination folder, along with the UK launch of the Bograma Servo 550 BASIC short run die-cutter. Joining these two machines will be the KAMA ProFold 74 running over 5000 capacity folders an hour, and Herzog + Heymann creasing line running direct mail work, Komfi’s crown jewel the Sagitta 76 laminator along with the best selling Komfi Amiga 52 with OTF ready to run custom foiling jobs at the show. The line up wraps up with a 78 and a 115 guillotine from Schneider and BaumannWohlenberg respectively and a Zechini Roby Junior 2 compact, semi-automatic case maker.

Although we have predominantly post-press and converting machines at this years show, our full range of equipment and divisions will be represented by all our national sales managers along with their sales specialists. We will be supported by our world class manufacturers with demonstrations and sales presentations running throughout the four day show.

Mark Bristow, Managing Director says: “We decided to go with a much larger stand this year due to the current demand for our equipment. With shorter runs, the requirement for automation, the consolidation of various businesses and the need to be more economical with their work flow, our customers look to us to give them the best advice and best equipment to meet these challenges.”

Friedheim has always enjoyed a rich relationship with IPEX so it was decided to go big this year. Stand 350 is 195m2 and will be a complete production work space, with actual real-world jobs running throughout each day. Format and job changes live on the stand, along with best work practices from Friedheim’s team of experienced technicians and demonstrators.

Stuart Bamford, National Sales Manager – Post-Press says: “IPEX is the perfect venue to launch the MBO K80 folder for the UK market, we did it last time with the M80 and it turned out really well for us, we hope to recapture some of the magic this year too. The K80 is perfectly poised for the UK market, at its price point, there isn’t a faster, more quality folder with this level of automation and advanced control, and the customers we took to the Baumann open house who saw it in June, were truly impressed.”
