Not just the financial results and the number of Twitter users are disappointing, also the creativity of the social media giant is disappointing.
They are currently testing, by invitation only, a subscription service at US$99/month which will get you more followers. Those ´new´ followers will receive the subscription holder´s messages on their feed, whether they want to or not. Perhaps some corporate accounts or celebrities such as Trump will fall for this, but it could be the end for this message service. We find it hard to believe that users will accept this and, even more importantly, we doubt that these unwanted messages can be successful.

PRESS RELEASE
APEX use IPEX to debut RMGT Ryobi 928P
Informa Exhibitions today announces that IPEX exhibitor APEX Digital Graphic is giving visitors the first chance to see the new RMGT Ryobi 928P press. It consists of an eight-colour SRA1 convertible press equipped with LED-UV curing, a technology pioneered by RMGT Ryobi and continues to re-invigorate Litho printing.
IPEX Event Director, Rob Fisher stated, “In bringing the new RMGT Ryobi 928P to the show APEX are really getting behind the ‘print in action’ theme of this year’s IPEX. This pioneering press will be in action throughout the show demonstrating how its range of ‘Smart printing’ technology provides automation for the ultimate in production quality.”
The combination of the two UV curing units and the latest Litho-press technology improves production efficiency by delivering a one pass instant curing process that produces 8-up A4 double side printing directly to stack ready for finishing and reducing production times.
Apex Sales and Marketing Director, Neil Handforth, commented, “We are really pleased to be exhibiting the new RMGT Ryobi 928P in this configuration. We have made multiple sales of LED-UV presses in the UK market, and now have four in the SRA1 8-colour configuration, which represents something that UK printers will want to come and see close up.”
IPEX covers all applications of printing, pre-press, software, wide-format, digital, Litho, converting and finishing. The range and breadth of exhibitors will provide printers the opportunity to see the latest innovations. Themed ‘print in action’, IPEX 2017 will be a showcase of innovation and technology in action and runs from October 31 to November 3, 2017 at the NEC Birmingham. Online visitor registration is now open.

The Scottish will also move to polymer banknotes. The Clydesdale Bank, one of the three banks that produce money, has asked banknote printer De La Rue to print the new 10 pound note. They had already asked to change the 5 pound note. The new 10 pound note will, just like the paper note, have the Scottish poet Robert Burns and an image of Edinburgh. The security characteristics will be a transparent part, and special optic variable inks which change colour. According to a Clydesdale Bank manager the introduction of the new 5 pound note has reduced counterfeit notes and the polymer banknote is said to be more environmentally friendly.
The polymer Scottish 10 pound note will be introduced in September, just like the new polymer note by the Bank of England. The English have also released a polymer version of the 5 pound note last year.
The Bank of Scotland recently introduced their own 10 pound note, made of polymer with the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, famous from the Harry Potter movies, and an image of the Scottish poet/writer Sir Walter Scott.

Vistaprint has come up with a creative way of bringing their wide variety of commercial print to the attention of their clients, the Promobox.
The Promobox offers a selection of commercial print with the customer´s name and logo. The online client page has a number of variables which can be adjusted to order more pieces. Vistaprint have a special offer for the first month of US$5. The normal Promobox will cost US$24.99 per month. For many companies the Promobox will be an inspiration for promotional materials and US$24.99 is a steal for a selection that will be worth roughly ten times that. We do not know when Vistaprint will launch its Promobox in other countries.
View this promotional offer via this link on the US website.
