Baby care brand collects data with new app
Baby care brand Zwitsal introduced the first baby names app. The new app is a kind of Tinder for baby names by which the brand cleverly collects data of the mother and the father. The app has been developed together with digital production agency iOnline.
Thanks to a self-learning algorithm the baby name app is geared to future parents who are looking for the best name for their child. The mum or dad to-be will see various names. They can approve or reject these. The names approved by the parents will go into a match list. The data base holds more than 10,000 baby names, but you can also add names you like. This name will automatically appear on the partner´s screen. There is also an option to add the names of your current children allowing the app to learn more about you and offer more names which might interest you.
“After research Zwitsal concluded that ´baby names´ is the most Googled term within the baby domain and saw an opportunity. We offered the idea of a self-learning app. The app is set up in such a way that Zwitsal will get insights and access to a wealth of information about the future parents. They will also gain insight into the popularity of names and the stages of the pregnancy”, says Marco Groenendijk, Managing Director iOnline.
Because the baby name app is optimised for use by both parents, Zwitsal also gains information about the father, a target market which currently has not been tapped into. The first pilot is now out in the Netherlands, and if successful other countries will follow.
