Blokboek.com milestone: 40,000 ScoopIt reads
We are, dare we say it, proud to announce the 40,000th ScoopIt rear. ScoopIt is where it all started for Blokboek.com. This is where we started in March 2011 with our free news service for the creative communicator. ScoopIt is a content curating blog platform to post news items including comments or extra information. These scoops are being shared by thousands of other ScoopIt users who re-scoop the item on their own ScoopIt blogs. This means that we can safely say that Blokboek.com news items reach more than 100,000 readers. And that is excluding ScoopIts via social media such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
From blog to online magazine
The popularity of Blokboek.com gets an extra push in 2014 when Marco den Engelsman joined our team to publish his much read articles. Blokboek at ScoopIt get into the double digits of daily readers. This growth was the basis for our decision in September to publish Blokboek.com as an online magazine. The Blokboek.com team was strengthened by journalists Jolanda van Drie and Arthur Lubbers and later on with editor-in-chief Beate den Engelsman.
Blokboek.com goes international
Thanks to Google Analytics we saw that the Dutch version of Blokboek.com was also being read in other countries. Not just in the Dutch language, but thanks to online translations, also in other languages. These online translations did not have the quality we want to offer, so we decided to start an English language version in June 2014.
Contributing international editors such as Laurel Brunner, Paul Lindstrom, Sonja Angerer and Nessan Cleary publish popular items about subjects such as large format printing, ISO norms and sustainable entrepreneurship.
