What’s new in pdfToolbox 9? pdfToolbox was the first product introducing variables into PDF preflight and correction more than seven years ago; and this powerful feature is nowadays one of the indispensable ingredients of modern Prepress workflows worldwide. pdfToolbox 9 does now introduce even more flexibility by extending this feature to cover wider areas and to allow for dynamically changing variable values during processing. Other prepress innovations allow for automatically creating background objects, e.g. for printing on transparent material or are related to new developments such as CxF for spectral data in PDF files. Using rock-solid Adobe technology pdfToolbox provides checking and fixing of even very complex problems, color management, impositioning, conversion to and from PDF and more. pdfToolbox technology is used by small companies, large publishers and print providers as well as OEMs that integrate the technology into their own solutions.

pdfChip is a command-line application for the creation of high-quality PDF from HTML (taking full advantage of CSS and JavaScript). The new version shown at drupa features an Adobe InDesign script to quickly create the required HTML templates from InDesign. An intelligent invoice module enables direct implementation of invoice generation; the invoice template can be designed either in HTML or in Adobe InDesign. pdfChip supports all HTML features, but extends them to support requirements of premedia and output processe like CMYK, spot color, page numbers, table of content generation, XMP metadata, PDF standards, SVG, MathML, barcodes and more. Capable of generating single and multi-page PDF documents it is ideally suited for high-volume dynamic PDF generation.

pdfaPilot is the solution for conversion of PDF or native documents and emails into robust, searchable PDF or PDF/A files for long-term archiving. It uses the same rock-solid PDF/A technology as used in Adobe Acrobat and is available for desktop use, through watched folders or ready for integration into existing systems through a command line interface or software development kit.
