Eric Standley: Unique paper creations

Paper is a versatile material for artists. Not just as a background for drawings and paintings, but also for the creation of infinite, beautiful shapes. Eric Standley, an artist from Virginia, knows how to make the most stunning creations out of paper. He cuts patterns out of big sheets of paper with a laser and glues them together into impressive 3D reliefs. Sometimes using more than 100 sheets he creates objects which are similar to woodwork or stained glass work. His work seems to be inspired by cathedrals and other complex buildings.
