Falkland Press is first in UK to order new Screen PlateRite CTP system
Falkland Press is the first UK company to order SCREEN GP’s new PlateRite HD 8900N platesetter. Launched recently and shown at drupa for the first time, the eight-page platesetter promises class-leading productivity for thermal computer-to-plate (CtP) production and joins Falkland Press’s impressive line-up of pre-press, print and finishing equipment at its Letchworth facility.
Falkland Press is a full service print firm offering litho, digital printing and finishing for commercial, direct mail and packaging applications. As part of the company’s ongoing investment in the latest technology, the PlateRite HD 8900N offers exceptional productivity, quality and performance and will be installed alongside its Heidelberg presses already onsite.
The new PlateRite HD 8900N series includes the Z, S and E models – each designed to meet specific needs. The high-end Z model features a 1,024 channel imaging head that helps it to improve output from 67 to 70 plates per hour. The S and E models are equipped with 512 channel imaging heads and are capable of producing 48 and 36 plates per hour, respectively.
With additional capability to combine high-precision halftone dots with a 4,000 dpi output the HD 8900N produces photo-quality printing and a 3D lenticular output mode is available on all models to support crisp 3D printing. The series accommodates a wide variety of plate sizes, ranging from 304 x 305mm up to a maximum 1,165 x 950mm, making it flexible to support a wide range of offset presses.
