German photo finisher, allcop, has invested in a new photo commerce platform from Taopix.

The Bavarian company was founded in 1959 and is one of the largest whitelabel photo labs in Germany with over 200 employees.
The company is well established as a fulfillment partner for many major internet portals, national drugstores and over 2000 dealers across Europe.
allcop manufactures a wide range of personalised photo products that includes photobooks, calendars, canvases and mugs and is planning to use the Taopix platform initially as a design and ordering tool for Mac users who prefer a dedicated desktop application.
allcop’s entire range of products is manufactured in-house at its large facility in Lindenberg im Allgäu using a wide variety of equipment that includes Kodak Nexpress and  HP Indigo digital presses, silver halide devices from Imaging Solutions for manufacturing real photo Paper as well as Müller Martini and Kolbus finishing equipment.

thomas-wiest-allcop-kopieManaging Director Thomas Wiest, has been monitoring the development of the Taopix platform since 2012 and has been impressed with the progress made over recent years: “I’ve been looking for a flexible and stable Macintosh client for a while now and took the opportunity to learn more about the latest Taopix developments at drupa. I particularly liked the Mac solution along with the fact that Taopix has one unified back end that manages all the different platforms, that gives a lot possibilities in the future.”

“I also really like the new Desktop Theming Module; it will be very useful for us as we’re dealing with multiple brands who have very different identities. I’m looking forward to helping our customers go to market with our new Taopix platform and looking forward to working with Taopix, our strategic partner for the future.”
Taopix Commercial Director, Steffen Haaga, adds: “We’re obviously delighted to be working with such a prestigious customer as allcop and very proud to be considered their partner. Both companies are looking forward to a fruitful partnership and working closer together on future features and the product roadmap.”
