How two housewives changed the computer industry more than the two Steves did

Hoe twee verveelde huisvrouwe de computer industrie veranderdeComputer historian Ben J. Edwards tells the story of Lore Harp and Carole Ely on fastcompany.com. Harp and Ely, two American housewives in the early seventies who got bored and changed the computer industry more than Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak or Bill Gates. A combination of business savvy, marketing talent and the technical support of Harp´s husband Bob built a company that unfortunately has not stood the test of time. Vector Graphic was not only a company that made superior computers, it was also the first company to pay attention to the design of the then rather bland boxes. The two built a knowledgeable and well-trained dealer network and were not gender or race biased in their hiring. In short, way ahead of their time.
