Joos is taking over high security press
Joos Print in Belgium has seized a chance by acquiring an advanced rotation press from the National Bank of Belgium (NBB). Print and communication company Group Joos is well-known for its direct mail expertise and can now offer security printing as well. The rotation press acquired was made by Müller Martini and is equipped with technology for security features such as iris print, relief print, unique (QR) codes and various security inks. Joos thinks it can now better supply the market for security documents such as passports, drivers licenses and certificates.
The press came from the NBB print shop. NBB had earlier already announced it would cease its printing activities. The printing of banknotes had significantly decreased since the Euro. The print shop will close its doors forever in 2020.
