Luggage belt Schiphol with pieces of art
Travellers arriving at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport will be welcomed with a rolling art history lesson when collecting their luggage.
Luggage belt 16 in hall 3 which is 73 meters long has been decorated with 45 important pieces from the Rijksmuseum.
An overview of Dutch art history from the Middle Ages until now is shown to the travellers. Works by Geertgen tot Sint Jans, Jan Mostaert, Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer, Vincent van Gogh, Gerrit Rietveld and Karel Appel, among others.
The luggage belt was made to celebrate the opening of the Rijksmuseum Schiphol, an annex with ten 17th century paintings and a Delft Blue tableau. The idea was developed by Skipintro and the design is by Irma Boom Office.
